About Lock IP

Originally a qualified mechanical engineer working in the aerospace industry, I moved into Intellectual Property around twenty years ago, and I am qualified and registered as a Charted Patent Attorney in the UK, with similar qualifications in Australia and New Zealand.  I have a great deal of experience in providing advice and services in IP to clients ranging from solo inventors, small and medium-sized firms, to larger organisations with a global reach.

I have extensive experience in drafting, prosecuting and enforcing Patents and Designs around the globe, including the UK, Europe, the United States, China, Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East.

I have considerable experience with Intellectual Property for general mechanical devices, and particular experience in the following technology areas: medical devices, marine control systems, wind turbines, whiteware and appliances, agricultural machinery, drilling and prospecting, and telecommunications cable ducting hardware. I also have experience drafting patent applications for software and apps.
If you are developing a product or products that you wish to protect, I can prepare and file suitable Patent applications and Design applications for you as required, including providing advice in relation to prior art, and carrying out prior art searching as necessary.

If you need help with developing an Intellectual Property strategy, or assistance with managing your IP portfolio, I can provide advice to ensure that you have suitable strategic coverage.

If you have concerns about a competitor's Intellectual Property and how this could be used against your business or your products, I can provide you with Freedom-to-Operate advice.
